Henry C. Hoey
The death of Henry C. Hoey, which occurred at the family home, 150 East Ninth street yesterday morning, will grieve many friends. His death was not unexpected as he has been seriously ill for several months. Mr. Hoey bore his sufferings with great patience and was prepared for the end.
The deceased was 60 years old and had been a resident of Oswego all his life. For about thirty years he had been in the employ of the New York Central as an upholsterer at the company's shops here. Mr. Hoey, since young manhaood, was deeply interested in public affairs. Although never an aspirant for office, Mr. Hoey was active in Democratic politics of the Fourth ward. He had frequently served as inspector of election. As a younf man Mr. Hoey was an enthusiastic volunteer fireman. His widow and family have the sincere symathy[sic] of score of friends in their deep bereavement.
The immediate survivors are his widow, two daughters, and one son, Mrs. Fred M. Riley and Miss Anna Hoey and Harry Hoey, health inspector, of this city; his mother, Mrs. Catherine Hoey of Fulton; three sisters, Mrs. Charles Sweet and Miss Catherine Hoey of Fulton; Mrs. Charles Allair of Albany, and a brother, Edward Hoey of Oswego.
